WEEKS, NOT MONTHS

WEEKS, NOT MONTHS: Apparently, the follow-on to UN Resolution 1441 is going to be as vague as the first one: No timeline. I understand the desire to have the UN on board, if for nothing else than to make setting up the post-Saddam goverment easier. But at some point, it strikes me as simple futility. If there is no deadline put forth in the resolution, there will be a call for a “third” resolution. (There have already been nearly 20.) If we can’t get the UN to act at this point, it seems to me that the “coalition of the willing” must go forward on its own.
