Rick Perry: Deadender?
Via The Hill: Perry vows to fight on, regardless of result in South Carolina primary
Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Sunday vowed to continue his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination in Florida, regardless of his finish in the South Carolina primary.
"That’s our intention," he told Candy Crowley on CNN’s State of the Union.
Well, of course, what else is he going to say? No one is going to say that they are going to quit before voting takes place in the contest for which they are campaigning.
On the other hand, given that Perry is a the walking dead at the moment, candidacy-wise, I guess it not out of the question that he would choose to shuffle along after SC.
Why he would do and to what end are separate issues. Indeed, I am not entirely sure why he is still running (apart from ego and/or raising money to help pay for campaign debt).
Oh, you didn’t know? He is Regan in 1980. I don’t see how, but he said it this morning.
I’d say the only thing Perry is is toast.
I think the farthest he’ll last is Florida, maybe, but then its over.
This is quickly shaping up to be a three-person race: Gingrich, Paul, and Romney.
@Jeremy: I think you are being quite charitable to Paul and Gingrich. 🙂 I suppose it depends on how one defines a “race” at the moment.
Well, Perry did compare himself to Tebow a couple of weeks ago. Apparently he wants to play that analogy out to its bitter end.
