The shape of the bird replicates the shape of the clouds.

    What bird is that?

The wingspan to body length ratio is crazy.

Cloud patterns are fascinating. I have to walk an hour or so per day. Looking at clouds is a daily thing now. I like walking at twilight.

Left step normal, right step CLOMP. It’s slowly getting better. I can roll my foot a bit and push off with the ball of the right foot now to a small degree.

Walking and looking at stuff has made me a better person.

Looks like it might be an albatross.

    @Mu Yixiao:

    Are there albatrosses in Alabama?

I would guess some take on hawk.

Montgomery is well off the coast. I could very well be wrong.

Initially, I sometimes struggle with New Zealand and Boer white South African.

The tonal profile is quite similar. There are contextual clues. Kiwis are the Canadians of the South Pacific; polite as can be. Even Zoe Bell, perhaps the most bad-ass woman alive, is actively polite.

I can usually figure it out in a few sentences.

One woman did baffle me; she was a white woman from Tanzania: country girl not city. The way she pronounced was really intriguing.

    Sorry!

    I apogize.

Umm…. I thought AL stood for Aleutian Islands? [looks innocent].

    I completely missed the caption.

I saw this first thing after it posted. I liked it (it evoked a feeling in me), but I didn’t think it was a very good pic and I couldn’t say why. So I said nothing. I still can’t. The best I can say is, it tells no story. Sorry Steven. I wish I had something more constructive to say.

  11. @de stijl: I am terrible at bird identification, so I am not sure.

Glad to hear that the foot is getting a little better, at least.
