Alabama’s Ludwig Von Mises Institute

Yesterday’s WSJ has an interesting piece on how the Ludwig von Mises Institute, a leading free market economic think tank, happened to be founded in Auburn, Alabama nearly a quarter century ago. Interestingly, although I moved to the state a couple years before the Institute was founded, received a high school diploma and three university degrees there, and even taught college there, I didn’t realize that it was there.

Then again, it is Auburn.

  3. The sad truth, though, is that the Ludwig von Mises Institute has been in the hands of so-called “paleo-libertarians” like Lew Rockwell for some time now and is beginning to bare little resemblence to what Mises actually believed.
