Another Republican Dodges The “Is Sarah Palin Qualified?” Question
From today’s Morning Joe, retiring Arizona Congressman John Shadegg spends several minutes dodging the question of whether or not Sarah Palin is qualified to be President:

It’s really somewhat pathetic to see the extent to which experienced Republicans are afraid of a half-term Governor turned reality show star.
She does have a very vocal, and active, fan base. I’m merely amused by the rabid anti-Palin crew.
Am I a Palin supporter? No. I just like the way she won’t back down, and she doesn’t cower in the face of overwhelming snarkiness.
Would I vote for her? (Mind you, she hasn’t said she’s running, nor has she been named a nominee) Well, if the choice was her vs Obama, Pelosi, Reid, et al, yeah, I think I would have to. Given that the Obama administration wants to run this country into the ground…
Actually, I can’t think of one Democrat that I would prefer over her.
It is not her they are afraid of, it is her followers.

Take fear out of the equation and the entire conservative universe pretty much ceases to exist…

Um, we had the greatest economy in the history of the world till the donkycoms took congress and the senate. The wars would have went much better if the same donkeycoms would not have undermined it evey step of the way.
I thought someone promised to bring the troops home and fix the economy?
I can’t wait for an end to this question for all time. I’ll offer a way to accomplish that. Have every Republican that appears on TV keep a printed copy of the US Constitution and then read back the qualifications for the office when asked.
“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”
And if they are feeling snarky they can follow that up with a “Is there some portion of that you don’t understand?”
Hmmm….I’m sensing a pattern of cowardice and weakness here. Sarah Palin can’t stand up to Katie Couric and the Republican Party can’t stand up to Sarah Palin.
Is it possible that Katie Couric just might be the most powerful person on the planet?

Ah, come on now. The rumors of America’s death have been greatly exaggerated. I mean, don’t forget the point of the slippery slope argument. You’re supposed to say, “This could happen.” Not “This already happened.”

The choice for what? Pick-up basketball opponents? I’d pick Palin too. I hear Obama’s got game and something tells me that Palin hasn’t been practicing her jump shot, and you know how those things are. If you don’t practice, you lose it.
Oh….you mean, choice for higher office? Well if Palin could handle the highest office in Alaska, one of the least populous states in the union, I might agree with you.

Yeah we saw “stay the course” with trickle down and it never trickled down. It was years of our jobs going overseas, our money going to Iraq, and the neglect of our infrastructure. Those tax cuts is spent money and did nothing for our future. You cannot stimulate the economy with more tax cuts (as being overused and ineffective), we cannot stimulate the economy with printing more money, as our jobs left the country. The trickle down did not work, we saw it well before the democrats came into office and Cheney even said “deficits don’t matter.” Yeah, good job. Stay the course and do nothing. It was tax cuts and laissez-faire. Well, we are where we are. Hope you like it. “Guns and butter” economics under Bush similar to LBJ. LBJ create inflation and Bush create deficits. No jobs and no investment for the future. We will suffer 20 years on this one.

Been watching China for years and we are still doing nothing. Just the same old ideologies. Another report today says China is the leader in renewable energy. Oh well.
