I have been exploring new blogs and find yours very appealing! Thank you for your efforts. I think we share similar ideas.
It would be nice if Star Trek would return to a better format… the last 2 shows and the last 3-4 movies were poor.

“Babylon Trek?” Damn.
There really doesn’t need to be any heroic resuscitation measures on Star Trek, because there are and have been excellent non-Trek science-fiction franchises (and no, I don’t mean Star Wars).
I’m looking forward to the next season of Enterprise, and would probably watch Straczynski’s Trek series if it came about, but I survived all those years between the cancellation of the original Star Trek and the advent of the Trek movies, and I think the universe would survive the end of the franchise.
And no cute kids or robots, ever!
I’m not sure what to think of this. On the one hand, JMS might be just the thing needed to resuscitate Star Trek. On the other hand, there may be some virtue to letting ST die.

I’d say with JMS the one thing your are always safe from is cute…. Remember what he did to the JS teddy bear? 🙂
Perhaps the future of science fiction “television” is fan-made episodes. The technology is there to do animated and even live-action shows with better effects than the first series had. Could the Half Life 2 engine be used to create science fiction movies?
