WaPo reports that some people are dissatisfied with the results when they unleash their idiot neighbors and randomly-chosen designers to do major home remodeling projects in 48 hours on a $1000 budget. Imagine that.

    I am SHOCKED!

    Indeed, I have often wondered a) why people go on that show, and b) why they are so often surprised that they don’t like the outcome.

    1. Because a few of the designers are actually pretty good.

    2. They think they stand a good chance of ending up with a beautifully redecorated room free. The sweat and no-sleep equity somehow doesn’t count.

    3. They will be on TV.

    Actually I think #3 is probably #1 if we’re ranking importance for the rationale.

    My Daughters love to watch the show. I like to watch too, but usually only to see if “Doug”, will make people cry.
