BUSH REVITALIZED

BUSH REVITALIZED: I just finished listening to President Bush’s impromptu press conference held as he returned to the White House from Camp David. As much as I’ve criticized him in the past for being inarticulate, it’s fair to praise him when he’s not. He was crisp, clear, and in command this afternoon. The only thing I can figure is that he has a “commander-in-chief” zone and a “whatever” zone. In the weeks after 9/11 and starting with the announcement that war was on last week, he was/has been crisp and authoritative. Much of the rest of the time, he seems rather stumbling and ill at ease. Clearly, when he finally has decided on a plan, he becomes more comfortable.
