YahooNews /AP reports:

“Meow TV,” developed by the Meow Mix Co., debuts Friday at 6:30 p.m. on the Oxygen Network. It’s the first show targeted at cats. Not cat lovers. Cats.

The show is being developed by the fine folks at Meow Mix, which is manufactured in Decatur, Alabama.

Hmm.

    What’s funny is some dog lovers group will be all upset that it discriminates against dogs. It’s too exclusive, not diversified enough. What about fish? Birds? Ferrets?

    I’ve been awaiting this development for a while. Seriously. I really figured we’d have pet-specific channels by now; pets are big business in the US, and a pet company who sponsors this sort of programming gets big brownie points just on “cute” value alone.

    Considering how much of the current programming seriously sucks, they’d have a better chance of making TV shows that pets will watch…
