Christine O’Donnell Threatens To Sue Delaware Radio Station To Get Copy Of Interview

This my friends is what you call arrogance and stupidity:

Christine O’Donnell threatened Tuesday to sue a Delaware radio station for not turning over a videotape of an interview with the Republican Senate nominee.

A campaign official demanded that WDEL give them the tape of the interview that had just aired, and, when the station refused, the candidate told host Rick Jenson said she would sue, according to an account from WDEL

The radio station also contends that O’Donnell campaign manager Matt Moran called the station and threatened to “crush WDEL” if the tape was not handed over.

The campaign ultimately apologized after being informed by actual lawyers that they couldn’t do stuff like this, but it leaves open the question of what kind of person thinks that threats like this against a free press are acceptable. This from the “Tea Party” candidate who claims to respect the Constitution.

It leads one to wonder what kind of relations O’Donnell would have with the press if she actually won an election. Thankfully, since that isn’t going to happen, we don’t have to find out.

  1. Christine O’Donnell to local television station: WE WILL BURY YOU.

    Who’s the communist now, huh?!

    /snark

  2. Vast Variety says:

Unfortunately there are plenty of Christine O’Donnell’s on ballots across the country and odds are some of them will win and we will find out anyhow.

And this station is backing who in the election? Let me venture a guess. I suggest it might be Chris Coons. Once again you prove my point. Were is the evidence they were threatened or even requested to turn over the material? Not sayin it didn’t happen, just saying people around here, Doug, go off half cocked. Would not be the first time Mataconis made a statement about O’Donnell before all the facts were known. I think they call the a bomb thrower or lose cannon.

“Would not be the first time Mataconis made a statement about O’Donnell before all the facts were known.”

Wouldn’t be the first time Zels went after Doug for having a brain, either.

  5. O’Donnell probably doesn’t know freedom of the press is in the first ammendment.

  6. anjin-san says:

After watching the interview, its not hard to understand why O’Donnell would want to try to bury it. The finger snapping at the aid is classic.
