Communists for Kerry

I’m seeing scattered coverage of the various protests taking place at the RNC in New York and, frankly, find little of it of interest. This bit from The New Republic Online was rather amusing, however:

The day’s most noteworthy street theater wasn’t even the creation of leftists; it was the brainchild of a conservative group calling themselves Communists for Kerry. Dressed as Lenin, Castro, and Che Guevara, and speaking in appropriate Russian and Spanish accents, they marched up Seventh Avenue waving red flags and calling for revolution. (The fact that their display was satire wasn’t immediately obvious to some of their fellow marchers.) The protest ended peacefully upon reaching Union Square, and the massive crowd dissipated without a rally ever taking place. Mayor Bloomberg even congratulated the marchers on holding a peaceful event. “I think you are seeing here in this city everybody having the opportunity to say what they want to say,” he said. “And they are doing it in nice ways.”

Heh.

Update: Blogs4Bush has pictures.

Nobody has as many pictures of Communists For Kerry as Communists For Kerry. We even have a small video (required viewing for all Party members).
