CPAC To Include Premiere Of Anti-Muslim Film On “Ground Zero Mosque”

Considering the recent allegations by Frank Gaffney that it had been infiltrated by pro-Muslim factions, it is kind of ironic that this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference will include this event:

An event will be held titled, “The Ground Zero Mosque: The Second Wave of the 9/11 Attacks.”

The event is a movie premiere, hosted by mosque opposition leader Pamela Geller and her partner Robert Spencer. It will be followed by “a question and action and strategy session on how to stop the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero.”

Geller and Spencer have been at the forefront of opposition to an Islamic community center and mosque planned in downtown Manhattan near Ground Zero. Geller has been the catalyst for protests at the site, including one on Sept. 11, 2010, and one planned early next month which will be a joint anti-mosque, pro-WalMart rally.

I’m not quite sure how anti-Muslim sentiment has gotten mixed up in controversies over Wal-Mart but to each his own I suppose.

To be fair, it should be noted that this is not an official CPAC event:

Nonetheless, it’s unfortunate that bigotry like this is being give a platform of any kind. I’ll be at CPAC this year and you can bet I’ll be steering clear of this one.

Doug will be attending CPAC but you can be sure he’ll pass up the Muslim-bashing, gay-bashing, atheist-hating, race-baiting, Limbaugh-fawning and Palin photo shoot for MILFlovers(dot)com events.

So. We can be sure Doug will be enjoying the pretzels.

  2. Jack says:

So let me get this straight: We’re not supposed to hold groups to blame for words and actions when extremists murder.

But, it’s OK to hate Muslims because Muslim extremists murdered Americans.

    Oh, right, “it’s OK if you’re a Republican”…

Sorry, I forgot Republicans were the new Chosen of God.

  3. Neil Hudelson says:

Ohh snap! He implied you are gay Doug! I haven’t seen a burn like that since 6th grade, the last time that insult had any effect an adult! Burn!

  4. An Interested Party says:

“Why would you say that? That implies that there is something wrong with being gay. Is there??”

Well, considering how you were in favor of DADT, you tell us…

  5. athiest hater says:

I'll let Doug answer that one.,

  7. Neil Hudelson says:

Doug was in favor of DADT? Unless my memory is failing, I’m pretty sure every post of his was in favor of repeal.

A question is always improved by additional question marks.

  9. Herb says:

athiest hater, a quick question: are you an “athiest” who hates, or do you just hate “athiests?” Just wondering….

Doug, question for you….are you going to CPAC to cover it for the blog? Or for your own enjoyment?
