Dominique Strauss-Kahn: ‘Hard To Tell A Naked Woman From A Naked Prostitute’

Former IMF chief Dominque Strauss-Kahn is facing charges of pimping, and he has a rather unique defense:

PARIS — The disgraced former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn is to stand trial in France on charges of pimping, prosecutors said Friday.
The Frenchman is expected to face another humiliating day in court next year over his links to an alleged prostitution ring based at the luxury Carlton Hotel in the northern French city of Lille.

Strauss-Kahn, 64, a former Paris finance minister, has admitted through his lawyers attending “libertine” parties at hotels in France and in Washington, where the International Monetary Fund is based, in 2010 and 2011.

However, he has always insisted he did not know that some of the women present were prostitutes and denies the pimping charge.

After the investigation into what has been dubbed the Carlton Affair was launched in October 2011, Strauss-Kahn’s lawyer, Henri Leclerc, told French television it was reasonable to assume his client did not know that a number of women at the parties were being paid for sex.

“As you can imagine, at these kinds of parties you’re not always dressed, and I challenge you to distinguish a naked prostitute from any other naked woman,” Leclerc said.

Something tells me Mr. Strauss-Kahn may want to look into hiring a new defense team.

Sounds similar to the defense offered in a Swedish case. There the court decided a woman’s foreign accent, make up and activities should have given notice she was a prostitute even though he didn’t pay her.

When you look like Strauss-Kahn (or me) and some attractive woman young enough to be your daughter seems hot for you, it’s highly likely the target is about six inches away from the inches you wish she cared about: yep, over there in your wallet.

“Hard To Tell A Naked Woman From A Naked Prostitute” Boy, I’ve been there. Wait a second, I haven’t.

I’m so old, I can remember when banking was considered boring.

    I accept the challenge.

Now Doug, you just haven’t been to the right type of parties [or are not admitting to European orgies (cough, nor have I)].

But as for knowing whether a woman is a working woman, one of my classmates at Navy Nuclear Power School in Orlando 20+ years brought a date he hired for the evening to our graduation party, and the Director of Students (senior O-4) went ga-ga over her, never realizing what was going on (not mentioning the poaching aspect) – and she went home with her client who lived a few doors from me.

DC is full of butterflies too, that attempt to go to the powerful. Money and power are aphrodisiacs. Mr. Strauss-Kahn is just a symptom of a corrupt system (mostly European system).

Strauss-Kahn is quite right, though. There are plenty of young, attractive women who will sleep with rich, powerful older men not because the women are prostitutes, but rather because the women are attracted to money and power. That doesn’t mean the women won’t want some for of recompense down the road, but it doesn’t make them prostitutes — just potential future wives and girlfriends.

    Gee, what a pimp.

  9. CSK says:

Is DSK suggesting that he can tell immediately whether a woman is a prostitute if she’s clothed? How? Do French working girls wear t-shirts that say: “Je suis une hooker”?
