Eric Daniel waxes rhapsodic about his old Load Bearing Equipment and how much things have changed since back in the day. And they’ve really changed since back in Thucydides’ day.
I served in the early 1960s and my MOS was machine gunner. The reason I was in the weapons platoon is that I’m 6′ 2″ and they figured the big guys could carry the heavy weapons better.
