    Parody is “the” weapon against nuttiness of any kind. And Stewart and Colbert are experts. However, I’ve lived in Britain for a awhile and I have to wonder what some of their satirists in their prime would have made of some of the far right’s idee fixe’s since their satire is truly brutal but very funny.

    Brits could certainly do it up fine, but nowadays, they tend to go for the cheap shot instead. Pity, that.

    Define a cheap shot? I was there a couple of weeks ago and watched a humorous panel discussion which suggested they have lost none of their skill with the stiletto. I’m surprised more of them don’t find there way here because they could have a field day with Fox, cowardly Democrats, crazy Republicans, tea partiers, religious nuts, et al. The real problem I suspect is the cable and national channels would be frightened to put them on because they would horrify their advertisers.
