GEPHART TO WITHDRAW, AGAIN

I could have sworn that Dick Gephardt conceded last night. I watched him on television doing it. “My campaign to fight for working people may be ending tonight, but our fight will never end.” That’s a concession, yes? But all the media sources insist that he’s “expected to drop out” later today.

I guess it all depends on what the meaing of “may” is.

Huh. I thought he dropped out last night as well. I thought maybe it was just me.

  2. Moe Lane says:

Possibly somebody convinced Gephardt that there was enough cash to give it one more shot with NH?

Not that I approve: I’d much rather that the Democrats spend that cash losing to Bush than them wasting it savaging each other.

No, I’m sure he’s pulling out. He’s not an idiot–if he didn’t do well in Iowa, he’s not going to do well anywhere.
