GORE TV
Al Gore is planning to start his own 24 hour news channel aimed at the under 25 crowd.
What a head for business this man has! Not only do we desperately need another 24 hour news channel but the prime audience for these things has to be the under-25 cohort. No one loves to watch news more than people without jobs, property, or any interest in the world around them.

I had my young cousin visit me on the Left Coast this past summer so she could soak up some rays. While the Mrs. and I were at work, she had run of the house. She is 23 and a college graduate, but I wouldn’t expect her to do any intellectual heavy lifting. She doesn’t have a job yet (we swung her a few intervews while she was out here).
Essentially, she is probably an average young lady.
She watched MTV 24/7. That was it. She had no interest in anything else – except doing email and going out to bars at night.
Algore expects to run a “news” network catering to people like her? As she would say: “I’m so sure.” (which apparently means the opposite).
In fairness, I think this might be his entire point.
I’m not saying it’s necessarily going to work, but trying to pitch news to a demographic that currently isn’t interested in the existing news outlets isn’t ipso facto ridiculous.
Kevin,
I suppose not. But I seriously don’t see how this works.
It’ll probably just end up being some flashy, shallow reflection of another news channel with little actual politics and more MTV-lite type stuff. Bonus points if he can throw in a liberal spin on all the news.
When will you folks learn, Mr. Gore is out to invent the concept of a news channel. The same as he invented the internet. Your just not paying attention folks!
