    Is it still winter? It’s 82F right now and got as low as 42F back in December. Whatever variety of Prunus they’ve got down here–cherry, plum, almond?–well, they’re in flower already.

    Water temperatures are still in the 60s, though, so it’s a bit too cool for the beach.

    Maybe Phil needs some company, like a boa constrictor, to keep him on his toes…

    Actually, I misspoke. It did get down to 32. Farmers were figuratively sweating a freeze for one night.

    @John Burgess: Where is here? In Daejeon today the high will get all the way up to 33 (for the first time in 6 days), so our winter is doing just fine, thank you.
