HOSTING WOES
Wizbang is moving yet again because his current host is unreliable. He’s moving to HostingMatters, which is what I’m on–along with hundreds of other bloggers including InstaPundit his ownself.
Ironically, this on a day when CalPundit was down all day owing to a “combination of host problems and Movable Type fragility.” His host: HostingMatters.
Annette, along with some other fine tech support folks at HM, “spent 8 hours trying to get MT to release data needed to make a full restore and attempting to massage the data to get it to import properly.”
I did not spend 8 hours by myself. Multiple people worked on this issue throughout the day.
Which is one of the reasons I moved. Right or wrong they were working on it. My issue with Verve was that there was no one like Annette, no support forum, etc.
Problems happen at all hosting companies, it’s the quality of response that sets them appart.
