Kerry Scandal Redux

Well, Drudge apparently put up the details of the Kerry story right after I left. I’ve heard bits and pieces on the radio and read the Drudge story.

I proclaimed Tuesday afternoon that “Kerry will be the nominee, absent a tragedy or some amazing scandal.” I’m not sure, in this post-Clinton environment, that this revelation constitutes an “amazing scandal.” It would be fatal to a Republican, of course, since it would alienate a huge part of the base. But unless it turns out that Kerry is, in fact, George W. Bush, the rationale for electing him remains unchanged.
