@Steven L. Taylor:
Yesterday it was #3520 on Amazon, and today it’s #850, so, regrettably, someone is buying it. It’s also #1 in two other categories; international and Middle East, I think.
@Sleeping Dog:
I wonder how Jared reacted to it. He and Ivanka spent so much time trying to insert themselves into the Manhattan haut monde. It must be a blow to know that all their former “friends” are convulsing with laughter over this.
I liked, “Kushner looks like a mannequin, and he writes like one.” because the first part is definitely true and I can’t imagine the 2nd part NOT being true.
I suspect that it was similar to the reaction of the producers and cast of a big buck Broadway production that gets panned on opening.
Kushner is going to write off the criticism as being from the NYT’s, so it is what he would expect. As far as their (former) NY friends, they knew they were persona non grata in NY, so decamped to Miami, so they’re not surprised. What is cutting them though, is that their new neighbors on Indian Creek are snickering and laughing behind their back.
In truth, they are like a lot of rich, they surround themselves with sycophants and paid friends whose role is to salve their ego, that and copious amounts of drugs and alcohol.
We were snickering and guffawing about this in yesterday’s open forum.
This is epic. I didn’t know who Dwight Garner was till Wednesday, but I believe he’s destined to live forever in book reviewing history.
@CSK: I missed that it was discussed yesterday.
I also liked “He’s a pair of dimples without a demographic.”

No one at Amazon has yet reviewed it.
@Steven L. Taylor:
You beat me to quoting that.
@Steven L. Taylor: it needs the front page focus anyway, though.
That was a classic review that will be referenced snickeringly for many years.

@CSK: Aren’t they supposed to be “no such thing as bad publicity” types?
@Just nutha ignint cracker:
I don’t think Ivanka is. I’m not sure about Jared.

Image that Charlie Sykes used to illustrate his reference to the review.

@CSK: I’m sure he’s buying up all the copies, along with the RNC. That practice has become traditional to move up the best-seller list.
@OzarkHillbilly:
Well, he had a ghostwriter, and the ghostwriter seems to have captured him perfectly.
