McCain Head Spot Photos Dirty Pool?

Hotline is dubious of Matt Drudge’s skills and suspects foul play:

Suddenly, Drudge has sophisticated image capturing software and a detailed obsession with the nooks and blemishes on Sen. John McCain’s head? Nah. This is a tasteless bit of oppo sent Drudge’s way by an overconfident opponent of McCain’s who wants to exploit McCain’s vulnerable political status right now by forcing the campaign to answer questions about his age and health.

McCain Head Spot Photo 2McCain Head Spot Photo It wouldn’t surprise me in the least were another candidate’s team behind this, although either of the shots at the link could have been taken by a blind chimp with a cell phone camera; they’re not exactly state-of-the-art.

Drudge is an annoying propagandist, to be sure, but touting controversial issues is what he does for a living. Further, it’s not unreasonable to be curious about the health of a 70-year-old man who has had skin cancer on three separate occasions, let alone one who spent five years being tortured by the Viet Cong.

In any case, I got a chuckle out of this closing to the Hotline article:

We’re not accusing anyone — we’re just accusing someone. Just not sure who.

Heh.

    Translated Hotline:
“It’s gotta be someone’s faualt, just so long as it isn’t ours.”

If you think about it, though, this is the second time in just about as many days that we’ve been hearing stories where Matt Drudge gets used as a punching bag…. With accusations against him that are so marginal has to be laughable. Why, it’s almost as if there’s some kind of PR campaign against him.

Personally, I like John McCain, far less than I like Matt Drudge. But in truth I really can’t stand either one of them. Sitting back and simply watching, seems the best policy.

But THAT couldn’t be could it?

Sure the head shots are dirty pool. And what do you call the Pelosi scarf shots? After all, the First Lady and Dr. Rice have done the same thing. But I guess there was no political hay to be made off of that.

Leave it to the Bush crew to attack someone for showing proper respect for their host’s religion.

The precedent has been set concerning someone of McCain’s age entering office. He was discovered after the fact that he had Alzheimer’s. This is, indeed, a legitimate issue.
