Obama and Biden Target All The Demos

Obama To Hold Google+ Hangout After State Of The Union; Biden to take gun questions from Field & Stream.

The juxtaposition of these two headlines struck me as mildly amusing:

  • Obama To Hold Google+ Hangout After State Of The Union (Mashable)
  • Biden to take gun questions from Field & Stream (YahooNews)

    Google+. Good grief. So that’s what all that Mountain View campaign money bought.

    @michael reynolds:
    Obama did do a Reddit IMAE didn’t he?

  3. Franklin says:

    James, are you trying to suggest the crossover is low?

    Democrats don’t take craps in the morning without planning how they impact their demographic models and attendant media memes.

    The Google+ thing will be a platform for young kids to posit such crucial fare as getting bailed out of their student loans (framed as “the high costs of higher education”), gay rights, contraception coverages, gun control and how and why the GOP is blocking Obama’s agenda.

    The Field & Stream thing will be a concocted platform from which putative “gun owners” will ask leading questions about why we certainly need more gun control, don’tcha’ know.

    All part and parcel of “the narrative.” Journolist undoubtedly is and will remain buzzing. The next day’s headlines and 1st grafs will follow suit. This is what happens when you don’t have an actual media. When you have a political party that literally is the national mass media and vice-versa.

    @matt bernius: I remember him doing something on reddit with little fanfare.
