Obama’s Broken Civil Liberties Promises (Video)
Last night, Jon Stewart put out an epic takedown of Obama’s broken promises on civil liberties.

The Obama Administration has been frustratingly awful on civil liberties issues. He has continued the Constitution-shredding policies of the Bush Administration and, in some ways, made those policies worse. Unfortunately, this is largely as a consequence of a politics in which torture, destruction of the rule of law, assassination, undeclared wars, and denial of due process have become perfectly acceptable positions in American politics.
Sadly, this isn’t even a voting issue, because while Obama has been quietly shredding the Constitution in this area, all of his potential rivals for the Presidency are boldly willing to say that he’s not shredding it fast enough. (All the while complaining about the “tyranny” of Clinton-era tax rates.)
