This is one of those songs that everyone knows, but if it comes on the radio and you ask them to name the band, often as not they can’t. Makes for a good bar bet.

In the Netherlands (where they’re from), by contrast, they’ve had over 40 hits and over 30 gold and platinum albums and not one of them’s had to have a day job since the Nixon administration.

It is the Mexican Radio of an older generation.
When I saw the band name, I knew what the song was gonna be, but I got to be honest, I don’t think I could’ve named the band from the song.
