That should be a beautiful photograph, and I’ve certainly found the Capitol impressive in the past. But it’s no longer possible to separate the building from its contemptible inhabitants, so that the building registers emotionally like a shot of the Kremlin or Tienanmen Square. Pretty, but too weighed down by sickening associations.
