Steven L. Taylor is a Professor of Political Science and a College of Arts and Sciences Dean. His main areas of expertise include parties, elections, and the institutional design of democracies. His most recent book is the co-authored A Different Democracy: American Government in a 31-Country Perspective. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas and his BA from the University of California, Irvine. He has been blogging since 2003 (originally at the now defunct Poliblog).     I see you got caught up in orb weaver season. I am enamored of them myself, tho their webs do make any walk in the woods a sticky situation.

  2. @OzarkHillbilly: Lots of spider and spiderweb photos this year. Partially it just seems that they were more prolific than usual, but also staying at home even more than usual of late!

    I like the kitty and doggo portrait obviously, but the close-up of the cat face in row three is really fascinating.

    It is a really human face with eyes you rarely see in a cat.

    Cat’s give you three or four looks: the cold I am going to eat your eyeballs when you die look, the I wuv you look and head boop while being petted, the I’m trying to nap here so shut the hell up look, the feed me look.

    Third row cat is wildly different than those. Very frank.
