ROBINSON CLEARED

MSNBC reports Gene Robinson has been cleared of charges he inappropriately touched someone and was involved in pornography. A vote to consider whether Robinson should be confirmed as the first gay bishop for a major religious denomination has been rescheduled for this afternoon.

    Yep. This reminded me of the Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill situation. Whenever someone comes out of the woodwork at the 11th hour with charges that could have been made months earlier, I get suspicious.

    I bet there is at least a 20% drop in membership in the Episcopalian church in the next three years, and likely a 30% drop in donations. What’s left of the Episcopalians could merge with the Unitarians and become the Episcotarians or the Unipalians.
