Sandra Day O’Connor At The Alfalfa Club Dinner

Former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor apparently got in a real zinger at last weekend’s Alfalfa Club dinner:

Former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor made a joke about the GOP candidates Saturday that reportedly drew much laughter.

At the black-tie steak-and-lobster Alfalfa Club dinner Saturday among political and business elites in Washington, she said that of two GOP presidential candidates, “one is a practicing polygamist, and he’s not even the Mormon,” according to an Associated Press report. The remark appeared to be a comparison between Romney’s Mormon faith (which no longer allows polygamy) and thrice-married Newt Gingrich. The dinner is closed to the press.

Nice!

Shows how stupid she is. Polygamy is the practice of having multiple wives at the same time.

  2. merl says:

@zzyzxroad: shows how stupid you are. you can’t even recognize a joke.

  3. Herb says:

@zzyzxroad: What Merl said about the joke….

Don’t forget that there was overlap with all 3 of Newt’s wives. So polygamy might be a stretch. Polyamory? Adultery? Would all of those be more preferable?

  4. Gold Star for Robot Boy says:

Over at the WaPo, they’re saying Tony Kornheiser made this joke.

    Whatevs – still funny.

Nothing compares to a sitting President getting a BJ in the oval office.

Nothing compares to a sitting President getting a BJ in the oval office.

Which is why Clinton will forever be my favorite President.

@merl: No joke. It wasn’t funny.

  9. Davebo says:

Am I seeing a little guilt in zzyzxroad’s comments? Seriously, adultery is now accepted by the wingnuts?

Should I blame Reagan? Or would that be sacrilegious?

  10. HankP says:

@KansasGirl: Are you sure he was sitting? He may have been standing up.

  11. OzarkHillbilly says:

@zzyzxroad: Only because you have absolutely zero sense of humor.

@HankP: Of course she is sure. She saw the video at her favorite porn shop.

  12. John D'Geek says:

What Newt practices is what some people (including myself) call “Serial Polygamy”.

Personally, I think the joke was hilarious.

No matter about the joke attempts, dems are desperate and obama will be out of office next jan.
