Senator Shelby on Roy Moore

Richard Shelby, the senior Republican Senator from Alabama:

“I’d rather see the Republican win, but I would hope that Republican would be a write-in. I couldn’t vote for Roy Moore. I didn’t vote for Roy Moore. But I wrote in a distinguished Republican name,” Shelby said. “I’d rather see another Republican in there and I’m going to stay with that story. I’m not going to vote for the Democrat, I didn’t vote for the Democrat or advocate for the Democrat. But I couldn’t vote for Roy Moore.”The state of Alabama deserves better.”

For those readers who think that all the discussion and criticisms of Moore are simply partisanship.

Did Senator Shelby speak out against Donald Trump after it was made public that Trump had confessed to sexually molesting women?
    Enquiring minds want to know?

  2. @Mister Bluster: Not to my recollection.

  3. JohnMcC says:

Might be worthwhile to point out that Sen Shelby’s next opportunity to meet AL voters personally is in 2022. I bet he still feels that’s a little too soon.

  4. Gustopher says:

“The state of Alabama deserves better.”

    Does it? Does it really?

  5. OzarkHillbilly says:

@Gustopher: Not if Roy Moore gets elected because too many sat at home or voted some write in name instead of voting for the Devil incarnate DEM.
