The Atlantic Council is sending a delegation of us out to the USS Eisenhower for the next couple of days.

Barring unforeseen access to a computer, the Internet, and free time that means no posting from me until Saturday morning.  My OTB colleagues will, however, be slavishly posting away as usual if not at a slightly higher opstempo.

Gotta love a vacation on Cell Block 69!

    I did a Med Cruise on Ike in 1988 with CVA-7, VA-72.

    Personally I preferred the America.

Well, as an Army man I feel for you! Ever since the liberal JFK shamed the US by donning a naval uniform, I regard the Navy as suspect. Our best Presidents have tended to come not from the Navy, but branches of the air national guard, so I implore you to say: “Go Army, Beat Navy!”

A bit of advice–stay away from the “Mission Accomplished” banners and Damn the Torpedos, Full Speed Ahead!!!!!

You will have a ball. Army jokes aside, stand by for all the fun that 5500 of your closest friends can provide!! (tip: knee knockers are equal opportunity hazards…They suck!)

Enjoy 90,000 tons of sovereign American Steel!!
