SOSA REDUX
MSNBC reports that Cubs slugger Sammy Sosa has been suspended eight games for the corked bat incident the other night; the suspension will be held in abeyance until an appeal is heard or Sosa drops the appeal at a strategically opportune time. Eight games is in line with precedent.
The good news is that MLB x-rayed the other 81 bats Sosa had and they were all “clean” as were the five bats in the Hall of Fame from the his historic 1998 home run chase with Mark McGwire.
