Well… I’m back.
It’s been a long time. It probably wouldn’t have been so long, but that stinker Gollum took us by the long route into Mordor….
Truth be told (and as a handful of people from the “old days” know), since I could no more keep my mouth shut for two whole years than I could sprout wings and fly to the moon, I have actually done some (very) ir-regular blogging since I formally closed down ipse dixit in June, 2005. Anyone who actually cares can find all of those posts (about two days worth of OTB altogether) at Amuk! Time. If you’re wondering, the site is a local social networking site on which I am a moderator (my 4 1/2 years of blogging has been put to use there mostly in helping the site’s administrators improve the blogging tools and interface rather than actual content). It’s actually owned and operated by the guy my ex-fiancée is living with now. But that’s a story for another day. Or perhaps not.
I won’t go into why I quit blogging or what happened after. Suffice it to say that I did miss it sometimes (hence the substitute). So it was both an honour and a pleasure to accept when James invited me to join his stable of excellent wordsmiths here. I don’t know what niche I’ll fill or if I’ll even stick to any particular main topic. But I promise to have fun and to employ gratuitous pop culture references abusively. As it says on the site linked above, I’ll either infuriate you or amuse you – and which will gratify me more varies from one day to the next.
It’s good to be back.
