Wisner: Mubarak Must Stay (?)

The BBC has a breaking news story stating that the US envoy to Egypt, Frank Wisner, is saying that Mubarak needs to stay in place to guide the transition into Septemeber: Egypt unrest: Hosni Mubarak must stay – US envoy.

If accurate, the report would seem to contradict reports that the Obama administration wants Mubarak out immediately.

    Wisner’s dad was the OSS chief for SE Europe in WWII and later was Deputy Director for Plans at CIA. He had a nervous breakdown after the Soviet crackdown in Hungary.
