Wu Will not Seek Re-election

So reports a CNN breaking news alert.

Indeed, it states he “will resign” but the text of the e-mail alert says “Wu’s spokesman said Monday Wu would not seek re-election and was "considering all options" regarding the rest of his term.”

That sounds more like “won’t seek re-election” than it does “resign.”

Clarification to follow, one suspects.
