Ron Paul Can Still Rake In The Big Bucks

Say what you will about Congressman Ron Paul, but his fundraising abilities are nothing to sneeze at:

The revolution is alive and well.

Ron Paul raised more than $700,000 for his PAC in 24 hours during a President’s Day money bomb.

Paul pioneered the online fundraising technique during his 2008 presidential run, and yesterday’s impressive haul shows he still has a significant base of support.

LibertyPAC promoted the money bomb with a web video posted on Paul’s Facebook page which leads supporters to believe the Texas congressman is leaning toward another run for president.

My own opinions on Paul are somewhat mixed, and I’d much rather see Gary Johnson as the standard bearer of libertarians in the GOP in 2012, but, as someone mentioned to me at CPAC, it’s worth noting that a nearly 70 year old guy who isn’t that great of a public speaker is somehow able to get a lot of 20-somethings to listen to a message about individual liberty, limited government, and a restrained foreign policy. Perhaps the GOP should learn something from that.

I am entitled to my assumptions as long as the post isn't titled "The Curious Case of Ron Paul."
