Fact About Jared Loughner I Didn’t Need To Know Of The Day

This is the opening paragraph in a story at The New York Times of all places:

Law enforcement officials said Friday they have multiple photos of Jared L. Loughner posing with a Glock 9mm gun next to his naked buttocks and dressed in a bright red g-string.

And, no, I neither have nor want to see those pictures.

Of course, Sarah Palin will be blamed for that too.

  2. Vast Variety says:

    Just wow… disturbingly wow.

  3. john personna says:

That Jay, is the same kind of straw-man argument Mark Levin is making with his lawsuit.

It is a classic straw man, in fact.

If I say “violent rhetoric is damaging, has no redeeming social value, and may lead to violent acts by the unstable.”

You say “prove that Sarah Palin in particular influenced this madman in particular.”

That was never the argument. It is a straw-man substitution.

  4. Gustopher says:

Clearly, he is a right wing nut. A left wing nut would have a blue g-string rather than red.

  5. Zelsdorf Ragshaft III says:

Why is that strawman John? I wonder if your aversion to “violent rhetoric” is something new? I do not recall your complaint when marchers were calling for the assasination of Bush. I don’t recall hearing anything from you when those normal people on the left hung Bush in effigy. Most of the violent language has come from those on the left. I have never ever heard Palin, Beck, Rush or Sean advocate violence. Neither have you. But you do not have to listen very long to people on the left to understand where they are from. I wonder how many times on MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC or CNN we have heard someone wish for the demise of Sarah Palin? I would bet millions Media Matters would say none. This is BS right out of Alinsky’s book

  6. john personna says:

No, my concern is not new. I really don’t recall threats to Bush, but I certainly didn’t try to spin any threats against Bush aside.

Care to guess what fallacy you are going for now?

What’s it called, the “Tommy did it too!” defense?

Did your mom buy that one?

  7. Linda says:

    Loughner. Naked buttocks. G-string.

    Next to a Glock?

Egads! What a horrible think to do to the Glock.

  8. michael reynolds says:

    Zels:

Stop pretending to know what you’re talking about. Glen Beck said some stupid bullshit about Alinsky and you’re regurgitating it. You’re an idiot echoing an idiot.
