Supreme Court Watch

Today is the Supreme Court’s second decision day of the week and, with nine cases plus the ObamaCare lawsuit left to be decided, speculation is running high that we could get some major rulings today. Personally, I’m still expecting that we’ll have to wait until next week to see the health care law ruling, but predicting when the Court will hand down an opinion is basically a waste of time. And, it’s worth keeping in mind that there are several other high profile cases that are still awaiting decision, any one of which could also be handed down today.

In any case, if you’re interested in following the events of the morning, ScotusBlog will be doing their regular decision day Live Blog starting shortly before 10am (alternate site for the Live Blog can be found here). If the health care case is handed down today, ScotusBlog will be keeping the LiveBlog running all day, with contributions from a variety of legal commentators and analysts. And, of course, we’ll be covering things here at OTB as warranted.

It looks like they’ve already decided to punt the healthcare decision to next week.

Supreme Court watch for next summer: bans and limits on soft drinks by nanny towns and cities! Soft drinks being limited while alcoholic beverages can be consumed virtually without rules or limits!
