The obvious headline of the day- Catherine, Princess of Wales, Reveals She Has Cancer
The Florida headline of the day- Florida man calls American Airlines passengers ‘blue-eyed white devils,’ threatens to ‘take this plane down’
That doesn’t sound good…
The types of cancer you “accidentally” discover during abdominal surgery tend to be the really nasty ones like kidney, pancreatic, etc.
Does anyone know if the bill passed by the House contains any Israel or Ukrainian aid proposals or border money? For some reason, I can’t find any good overview of the details of the agreement.
@Stormy Dragon:
I agree. Pancreatic and Ovarian don’t often show symptoms till they are Stage IV already. With those cancers, Stage IV is very bad news.
@Rick DeMent: Al Jazeera reports “the measure did not include funding for mostly military aid to Ukraine, Taiwan or Israel, which are included in a different Senate-passed bill that the Republican-led House of Representatives has ignored.”
@James Joyner:
Thanks for the link.
After much delay, Boom’s XB-1 demonstrator took flight.
I advice against watching Boom’s own video. There’s nothing wrong with the limited test flight undertaken. Low altitude, low speed, not retracting the landing gear, etc. It’s a new plane and the envelope is to be pushed gradually and slowly (and before that, there were taxi tests). A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. The video, though, makes it look portentous. I actually laughed.
The party of scolds.
And as the dutiful “I did everything I was told” Millennials learned, all that gives you is crippling student loan debt and poor employment prospects with that gender studies degree.

It’s ok. I have a bit of a hangover too. I pounded a bunch of edibles and a Vodka + Green River last night. My partner was getting another tattoo and my daughter left to go party elsewhere. I was watching the Ultra live stream until the storms killed that. It was a bummer, the edibles started hitting right as Massano and Chris Avant-garde were hitting their stride.
After that I put on a Massano set from November. I think he was in Argentina. I really cranked the tv for that one. My son was in the basement playing video games on his computer. At one point he came up, looked at the TV, and said, “That’s what you do? You’re crazy.” He’s 10.
Anyway, it was a rough week and I had a rough closing so I decided to go with a pacing party dose. Which is 20mg of edibles with 20mg redoses every 1.5-2 hours. I made it three rounds. It was great. I was twitchy as hell. Felt like my skin was on fire. Chef’s kiss.
Anyway, that’s why I’m hungover. Whatcha up to last night? I’m imaging you’re dealing with some ropey lemony fresh boogers from last night’s 6 pack of pledge. Oh, wait, I forgot, you’re a man of refinement, how long does the high last from model airplane glue?
This is good. It’s nothing we didn’t know, but Robert Reich is amusingly plainspoken.

Enjoy.
@JKB:
I will take that in the spirit in which it was intended — which is to say, “I know they were right so I don’t have anything better to criticize them about than tone…”
For some reason I can see the entire NYT/Dowd/Carville item that was not linked to above. Found it in a Google search. Here is more from Carville.
@JKB:
Jesus Fucking Christ. Those are two idiots who should never be allowed within 500 feet of each other. All that centrist-contrarian bullshit in one spot risks a gravitational collapse.
A waste of good contrarianism! Find someone 5-10 degrees from center, and then complain from the center.
@Stormy Dragon:
Cancer treatment has come a long way. Three years ago my wife was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and had surgery very quickly afterward. Tissue removed revealed that she also had a rare Stage Three small cell cancer… a highly aggressive cancer… and we were told she has a 23% chance of surviving after five years. It’s been three years now and so far it looks like she’s going to beat those odds… and change those odds for others.
