BLOG METRICS

Kevin Aylward thinks tracking outgoing links might also be a useful form of navel gazing. He’s figured out a way for bloggers to extract this data.

Myelin is supposed to do this but has been kaput for months. Technorati also does this but they’re lagging a bit and it only counts blogs in their database, whereas Kevin’s method counts all links, period.

The thing that would make this useful as a comparative measure–to the extent that such things have any use (which is to say, rather little)–would be to have it automatically updated in the way TTLB’s Ecosystem is used to be.
