DIPLOMATIC BAZAAR. . .OR BIZARRE

DIPLOMATIC BAZAAR. . .OR BIZARRE DIPLOMACY? Howard Fineman second guesses Bush’s diplomacy in his Newsweek column, arguing the president “got taken” because of his Texas bluster. While I think Fineman is one of the best non-partisan political analysts out there, I disagree with his premise. The US is the superpower, not France or Turkey. The price they will pay for failing to cooperate with the US will far exceed the cost to us for failing to appease them. We may not be good at operating in filthy, flea-ridden bizarres, but we’re pretty good at building shopping malls and Wal-Marts.
