Donald Trump Loses It
Perhaps the best coda on the election results last night was the fact that the most unwelcome participant in the entire election cycle took to Twitter to completely lose his mind:
Donald Trump, the impossibly coiffed real estate mogul and de facto leader of the “birther” movement, had something of a Twitter meltdown in the wake of President Barack Obama’s projected victory in Tuesday’s election.
“Well, back to the drawing board!” Trump tweeted shortly after several networks, including Fox News, called Ohio in the president’s favor, sealing the win. “We can’t let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty. Our nation is totally divided!”
Trump—who last month offered $5 million to a charity of Obama’s choice in exchange for the release of the commander in chief’s college records and passport application—continued his post-election rant in 140-character chunks:
Let’s fight like hell and stop this great and disgusting injustice! The world is laughing at us.
This election is a total sham and a travesty. We are not a democracy!
Our nation is a once great nation divided!
Our country is now in serious and unprecedented trouble…like never before.
This led Brian Williams to take on Trump on the air:
Nice takedown, sir. Now, let’s move on to the important issues of Obama’s Second Term. The fiscal cliff and making Donald Trump disappear from my television.
heh … so is the popular vote apparently 🙂
In some cruel way, seeing trump lose it is actually satisfying!
That asshole never had an ‘it’ to lose.
I hope this latest little meltdown drives that pompous gasbag off the air. It’s always amazed me that anyone takes him seriously.
Doug, you missed the one that Trump quickly deleted because even he realized it was over the line (and ultimately wrong):
“He lost the popular vote by a lot and won the election. We should have a revolution in this country.”
But sadly, in the eye’s of Sean Hannity, Donald Trump will remain a ‘great american’ and stay a regular guest commentator on the Fox Opinion programs. As will, most likely, Dick Morris. Look on the works of Conservative Inc ye mighty and despair.
Ah, yes, the man whose wisdom graces my mother’s refridgerator door. Sigh.
He didn’t have “it” to lose.
…
As an aside: twitter, what is it good for? It’s a perfect place to have a ridiculous meltdown. Even if you aren’t a grifting wackaloon like Trump.
@mattb: someone on twitter replied to the revolution tweet with “revolutions usually ended badly for people who wear wigs”
“…and making Donald Trump disappear from my television”
First things first. How about you keeping The Donald out of OTB.
Doug–everyone’s entitled to a last laugh, but could this please be the last Donald Trump posting on OTB?
Even if Romney won the popular vote, it’s simply irrelevant. People in heavily biased states simply don’t have the same motivation to vote as in states where it is close. The count is therefore skewed in such a way that you have no idea who really would have won the popular vote if that’s the way we elected President. So unless we scrap the electoral college, the popular vote numbers are meaningless.
So in short, please stop talking about the popular vote. Or, if you’re Donald Trump, just stop talking, period.
So, how long till the media again takes seriously his musings about running for president? December?
I’d like to think this racist assclown would have the decency to fade from view, but we all know Trump has no decency. He’ll be back again, musing about running for president (which he will never do because he will never reveal how rich he actually isn’t) and once again a gullible political press will fall for it.
What is particularly scary to me is how many commentors on Wizbang, WND, and The Blaze are openly supporting Trump’s call for revolution.
My favorite quote so far from those rants: “Trump is right! This election marks the end of democracy in the US.”
Let that one marinate for a bit.
mattb,
That one is right up there with “keep the government’s hands off my medicare!”
