Feel the Looooove: II

Well, I followed a trackback to this post by Michelle Malkin. Now in the past I’ve disagreed with Michelle Malkin (e.g., her take on the California energy crisis–it was standard free market blathering that was devoid of some of the peculiarities that rendered much of the blathering irrelevant). I’ve watched the story about her book on Japanese internment and it looks like she overtated the case. Bottom line, I like Michelle Malkin, I read her stuff, I don’t always agree with her.

But that isn’t quite good enough for some of the “loving”, “caring”, “open-minded” liberals.

Malkin, you’re a dumb fucking whore. You’re a philipino piece of shit who should be wiping my ass. Go back to the massage parlor. Sucky sucky long time. How dare you thing [sic] you have any right to express any opinions in this country. You’re a joke. Go back to nursing school. Whore.

Let me see…swap out some names, and change the ethnicity/race a few other words and we get….

Maxine Waters, you’re a dumb fucking whore. You’re a black piece of shit who should be wiping my ass. Go back to the plantation. Sucky sucky master’s dick. How dare you thing [sic] you have any right to express any opinions in this country. You’re a joke. Go back to nursing school. Whore.

Now, most people would quite rightly hit the ceiling if this kind of thing were done to Congresswoman Waters (and it might very well happen–I hope not). This kind of thing is just simply wrong no matter who the target is. I really wish that the Liberals would stop pretending that racism is only a problem for those on the Right. It looks very much like the Left has some house cleaning to do as well.

Here are some other nice e-mails,

You’re just a Manilla whore shaking your ass and waiting for the Republican fleet to come in, aren’t you? You’ve even got the lip gloss about right. Maybe if you love sailor long time, he bring you home to big American house? I don’t think so. Just like in Manilla, Honey, they’ll pass you around ’til they’ve all shot their load in you, and then they’ll try to scrub off the stench so they can sail off in their crisp, white uniforms to the land of W.A.S.P.

****

I just hope that I am still around when the karma catches up to those of you that have spread the lies and attacked the innocent. I hope your fate is somewhat similar to the women of the Phillipines when the Japanese invaded. Then Michelle you can drop the “media” from “media whore” when someone asks your occupation.

Hi Self hating flat nosed Filipino Bitch! As we used to refer to your kind – little brown Fucking Machines. Looks like this little LBFM learned to whore in a different way to make some pesos. How sweet.

I of course particularly like that last one. Nice name for Filipino women. I’d like to meet a person like this, to let them know that my wife is an LBFM and that I really appreciate his racism.

Bryan Preston also raises a good point on this,

Perhaps this subject hits me personally because of my situation–mixed marriage, therefore mixed-race son whom I want accepted into this world based on the content of his character as opposed to the color of his skin. Situations such as this remind me that he may have a hard time, not with anyone the left routinely accuses of racism, but with the left itself. They’ll either want to use him or they’ll just set out to destroy him. And that’s unacceptable.

No kidding Bryan I know exactly how you feel.

Now Bryan continues and I hope very much that he is overstating the case.

It’s clear to me that the left has a problem. It is a political movement full of bigots. Ant-Americans at the core, anti-Christians over here, race bludgeons and hucksters over there, leftists who hate everything that isn’t absolutely sterilized of all traces of faith over there, a death cult that pushes what amounts to eugenics through unfettered abortion over there, and all ably led by a bunch of potty-mouthed Hollywood elites who wouldn’t give a nickel for the country that made them rich.

I hope that the Left is not full of bigots. I hope this is an extreme and unhinged fringe that nobody in the mainstream Left listens too.

No one would ever call Maxine Waters a whore. You have to be attractive to be called a whore.

I’m kind of kidding but not really. Michelle’s race is only part of the issue in these emails. Obviously, her gender is too.

Were she a man they’d have cut the current insults in half. Or find a substitute for whore and I can’t think of anything quite equivalently repulsive for the male gender. And if she were an ugly female she’d be a c**t. Also not quite as repulsive as being a d*ck or a**hole.

    Lunacy

    Lunacy,

I can think of at least one insult that they could direct towards a male asian.

  3. Alex D. says:

If it makes you feel any better, I’m a liberal who really does accept different races, cultures, and beliefs.

  4. kappiy says:

I am not sure why you equate some anonymous hate emails to being representative of ‘the “loving”, “caring”, “open-minded” liberals.”‘?

How do you know they are not coming from “caring”, “open minded” conservatives? Or “caring”, “open minded” greens? Or “caring”, “open minded” libertarians? Or “caring”, “open minded” Klansmen?

Obviously, the statements related in Malkin’s post are abhorrent and idiotic, but there is nothing to suggest that they are indicative of the discourse coming from the so-called “Left.”

  5. Brian says:

kappiy – The notion of a false consciousness is at the heart of “the discourse coming from the so-called ‘Left'”, especially on race and gender matters. To the extent these e-mails have any intellectual content, that’s it.

  6. Steve says:

    Kappiy,

First, I don’t think I said this was representative. In fact, I believe at the end of my post I want it to be a fring group that is pretty much ignored.

Second, I doubt seriously this is grand conservative conspiracy to make liberals look bad.

Obviously, the statements related in Malkin’s post are abhorrent and idiotic, but there is nothing to suggest that they are indicative of the discourse coming from the so-called “Left.”

I don’t think it is indicative of the discourse from the Left, just as hateful/bigotted statements aren’t indicative of the discourse from the Left. I do think this is something the Left needs to not run away from (as the Right should not run away from its questionable discourse). I’m glad we agree it is abhorrent.

  7. Kappiy says:

    Brian-

It’s good to see you invoking Engles against the denizens of diversity–a very Leftist move, I must say.

I would strongly disagree that there is any “intellectual content” in the emails to Malkin.

My point is that is without merit (or evidence) to equate hate mail with leftist discourse.

I hope you remember this the next time Atrios, Willis, or other big Lefty bloggers make such arguments.

For what it is worth, I don’t think these e-mails are indicative of all Liberal discourse. I’m currently having a pleasant exchange with Nathan Newman on my blog. No acrimony, no name calling, and no bigotry, and it is on a “hot button issue” Social Security reform. I also don’t think my post indicated that these e-mails are indicative of Liberal discourse, but that Liberal discourse, like Conservative discourse, at times and from some individuals have an ugly side.
