Kerry for U.N. General Secretary

I’ve seen reports of this elsewhere, but this Reuters account is a bit more detailed:

Democratic White House candidate John Kerry predicted on Monday Republicans would try to “tear down” his character and said some foreign leaders had told him they hoped he would beat President Bush.

***

Without naming anybody, Kerry said he had received words of encouragement from leaders abroad who were eager to see him defeat Bush on Nov. 2.

“I’ve met foreign leaders who can’t go out and say this publicly, but boy they look at you and say, ‘You’ve got to win this, you’ve got to beat this guy, we need a new policy,’ things like that,” he said.

Does he really think this is going to get middle-of-the road Americans to vote for him? What would that thought process look like?

Harry: You know, I really can’t decide between Bush and Kerry. They both have good points and bad points. Whatever shall I do?

Louise: Well, I’ve heard that some unnamed people in foreign countries like John Kerry better.

Harry: That’s good enough for me! Kerry it is!

Or maybe not.

Yeah, Kim Jong Il has probably already called to with Kerry well.

  2. McGehee says:

Ohhhh, Lordy. At this rate the 2008 nominee will be Dark Lord Chuckles, the Silly Piggy.

  3. Tom says:

    Newsflash:

Kerry wins endorsements from AFL-CIO, Axis of Evil, and the Axis of Weasels…

Can’t wait to get to the polls

  4. Anonymous says:

The same organization that has launched personal attacks on Bush for the last year now bemoans that personal attacks “are coming”. The same man who said “Bush lied” and couldn’t back it up in a press interview now accuses republicans of attacking his character.

What a hypocrite, but you knew that already.

  5. Bithead says:

If they’re that interested in getting Kerry elected, one wonders if there’s money backing this wish.

    Say, for example, China…
