Please, I can't stand the things Ted Kennedy represents. I can't support his policies. I think he has been bad for the country. That said he is a man, with a family, and should be entitled to some respect and sympathy.

Civility is the right path and now is the time to show it.

Only a complete prick would cast stones at someone who is facing cancer. You may despise Kennedy, fine, act like a man and keep it to yourself.

I despise Cheney & Bush, but would certainly not be cheering if they were in that position.

Instead of taking me to task for something I have not had a chance to say about an event that has not taken place yet, why not look into your own heart and examine your own less than charitable words spoken this very day?

Some things should transcend politics. I despised Nixon when he was president, but I was sad the day he died. He really was a brilliant man, and in many ways a tragic figure. Humanity binds (almost) all of us, and the grim reaper does not give a crap about our politics.

The point I'm making is that of the double standard applied to such events, gang. This ain't rocket science. Far as I'm concerned most of the ones complaining about current comments about Kennedy, have not leg one to stand on with such complaints.
