DC SALARIES
The Washington Times has a cover story noting that more DC city officials make $100,000 a year than other cities of comparable population. Maybe it’s because even a modest home in the district goes for a million dollars?

Yes, that’s why the military’s BHA (??), the housing allowance is so much more here.
Yup. The house I had in Alabama that I sold in August for $88,000 would go for $2 million in the District if on a comparable plot of land; at least $1 million even on a postage stamp. Heck, a decent townhouse goes for $250,000 here in Loudon County–a 40 minute drive out of DC.
