U.S. Soldiers Beheaded by al Qaeda (Video/Images)

An al Qaeda faction has released a video showing the murder of two soldiers captured June 19. SITE reports:

The Mujahideen Shura Council in Iraq issued today, July 10, 2006, a 4:39 minute video that shows the mutilated corpses of the two American soldiers the group stated to have captured on June 19, 2006. The extremely graphic footage is preceded by an audio clip of a past Usama bin Laden speech, and an audio track from Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is heard over the scenes in which the Mujahideen display and prod the corpses.

A message introducing the video states that this video is presented as “revenge for our sister who was dishonored by a soldier of the same brigade,” referencing the rape and murder of an Iraqi girl and her family by a group of American soldiers in al-Mahmoudiya

The Jawa Report has the video and numerous still photos. Rusty Shackleford provides the following description:

The two victims, Kristian Menchaca and Thomas Tucker, were members of the 101st Airborne division abducted by al Qaeda in Iraq. A third soldier died in the attack.

Their bodies were later recovered not far from where they had been kidnapped. The US military now says that their corpses were found tied together with a bomb between them. Three roadside bombs were planted around the bodies. The bodies had been decapitated.

The video bears the logo of al Qaeda in Iraq. Contrary to reports by al Qaeda, the video appears to show that the two soldiers were already dead before at least one of them was beheaded.

After a brief introdcuction with an image and the voice of Osama bin Laden, the video shows the two dead soldiers lying on a bridge. Both are already dead. One of the men has already been beheaded, the other man is dead. An al Qaeda member holds the severed head of one of the dead soldiers. One of the two soldiers appear to have been shot, the other has multiply wounds but appears to have also been hit by an explosive. The video also blurs out one of the dead men’s genitels, apparently al Qaeda believes showing that would be over-the-top. Later, an image of the now dead leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, is superimposed over the film. Zarqawi had personally murdered several people by beheading and then released those films on the internet.

The entire video has a voice over of what sounds like Abu Musab al Zaraqawi–but it could be the new al Qaeda leader in Iraq calling Muslims to jihad. A nasheed, or Islamic jihad song, can also be heard in the background.

The photos, as one might imagine, are quite disturbing.

UPDATE: Video is available at dozens of sites including here, here, and here. (Update: Rusty has it, too.)

UPDATE: Hot Air had the video up briefly but Michelle Malkin decided to have it taken down out of respect for the families.

I looked, partially because I think it’s my duty to see what’s happening. I am sickened. But I’m also resolved. Images like this make me feel more strongly than ever against Islam and Muslims. If they imagine images like this will “strike terror” into our infidel hearts, as their execrable Koran exhorts them to do, then they are woefully mistaken.

Our hearts are becoming STEEL to them. Every insult, every time they exploit a new act of terror to demand more concessions, more “understanding” of Islam, more money for their hellish causes, I am more bent on revenge against them than ever.

Keep it up, Muslims. Everyday your masses pray for our destruction, and fantasize that you’re bringing that about through your abominations. But it isn’t working, is it?

What you don’t know, what you can’t imagine in your arrogant piousness and your insane belief in your monster God Allah — you’re awakening the slumbering masses in the West — and when we rouse ourselves and begin praying for YOUR annihilation with a fraction of the furore you bring against us, you will know we have the ways and means and will to DO IT without remorse.

Then you will cease to haunt this earth.

  2. Anderson says:

Why does my hatred for these evil terrorists have to be jangled by dumbass remarks about “monster god Allah”?

Do you have ANY FREAKING IDEA how many evil s.o.b.’s have killed people blasphemously in the name of Christ?

Keep your eye on the ball, people. The problem is not “Islam.” The problem is “evil murdering bastards.”

  3. AHS ILERI says:

I think it’s more important to understand that it’s not the “religion” or those who believe in it (in this case Islam and Muslims) that do the killing. this is being done more specifically by the ones that have a warped interpretation of a religion which really doesn’t exist, as they see it, and one that hasn’t undergone a reform or “adaptation to the days facts”. With all due respect, JS.LA, it is exactly the response you provide above that they are “fishing” for…they have no link to the world you, or I or others like us, live in and nor do they want a part of it…yes, they deserve the intent of your response but this intent should rather be directed at the perpetrators of the insane acts and not necessarily the muslim community as a whole. Be assured that there are more muslims out there who abhore these acts and do not in any way condone that which is being perpetrated in the name of some “unknown and undefined” belief…than there are those who are currently on the “deserving end” of the GWOT. Unfortunately, we always tend to hear more (history will prove this true as well!) from and about the ones that are feeling the heat.

  4. Fersboo says:

So I guess there isn’t any correlation between Allah, Islam and the fact that many, sometimes majorities, Muslim populations find it acceptable (claim it is in their Holy book) to kill innocents, kill petty criminals and subjugate non-Muslims?

Do you have ANY FREAKING IDEA how many evil s.o.b.s have killed people blasphemously in the name of Christ?

I’d believe this would be more relevant to the argument if there were a significant number of ‘evil s.o.b.s’ out there killing for Christ.

this video is presented as â??revenge for our sister who was dishonored by a soldier of the same brigade,â??

This logic from the same types highlighting the ‘abuses’ at GITMO. By their line of thinking, we’d be justified in beheading ALL of those SOBs.

Not that I think we should, but their hypocrisy is certainly notable.

  6. Real Patriot says:

I am wondering if y’all think that every American soldier, or polititan, who has intentionally murdered or ordered the murder of an innocent civilian from another country deserves your hatred. Or do you only hate these things when someone else does them? Just curious if your moral code runs true no matter who is the guilty one or if maybe you might have two different standards of justice.

A patriot who loves the country but not hypocrisy.

You just have to look at history to see how many people have killed in the name of Christianity. The inquisition, Northern Ireland Serbia, and now? The whole past of Christianity is a blood bath “gott mit uns”everyone thinks God is on their side. Democracy only extends as far as the eye can see, and that’s not easy to maintain. Best regards Christian

I am Tommy’s 1st cousin and would like to make a comment about the hatred you are all talking of. Tommy is a wonderful man with a heart the size of the earth.
For these things to be done to him are completely un-imaginable to me.
BUT hatred gets us no where and to the person who asked about murderous Americans; YES I feel the same way about them!!
I speak for myself and my husband when i say hatred gets us NOWHERE!!!!
We love Tommy but I know that there are other families out there who know we all feel and my heart aches for them also!!
    Thank you for you time.

Your comments brought tears to my eyes Christina. The true voice of reason. Why do people not understand that revenge is wanted on both sides of this conflict and that is only going to fan the flames ( it’s a vendetta mentality). The politics of an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth is an empty philosophy which actually avoids any concrete issues it’s unthought out, a gut reaction. I have not watched the video and refuse to do so. Is not reading about this horrible event enough? I believe it happened and that’s enough. Can anyone give a good reason for watching it except for some kind of morbid curiosity or to stir up a bit more war frenzy. (like teasing a lurcher with the sight of a hare) The argument I have seen for watching this sick film holds no water, You could say. Watch “snuff” movies so you know how bad those civilian criminals are. Would anyone advocate that? I have worked with soldiers in several countries and although most of the time the most awful experiences are never talked about, occasionally they do release some vague information. Mutilation of the enemy is common practice on all sides.Fingers and ears seem to be the most common with Brits and Americans. This is what these soldiers have told me it may be true or may not be. I’m just reporting what I have been told. Russian soldiers told me similar stories. I noticed that above, some people said they were almost prepared to sign up in the army. My advice GO!!!!! Find out what it’s really like and stop pontificating from your computer chair. All the best Christian
