BLAIR’S FUTURE

John O’Sullivan has an excellent piece on the political future of Tony Blair, who is held in much higher regard by the US public than his own party back home (via RealClear Politics). Ironically, when he was first making his run to unseat John Major, the take on Blair was that he was Britain’s Bill Clinton, minus the zipper problem. Has has been much more than that, earning the respect of people like O’Sullivan, a staunch conservative who nonetheless admires Blair’s courageous stance on Iraq. Indeed, Blair may turn out to be this generation’s Winston Churchill–and meet the same post-war political fate.
