Steven Taylor reports that small coffee growers are upset that companies like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts are buying so-called “fair-trade beans” and “turning it into a marketing ploy rather than an effort to help farmers.” Heh. This reminds me of the micro-brew beer craze a few years back when the big boys got into the act, with products like “Red Dog,” which turned out to be from the Miller Brewing Company.
