Via the NYT:  Christian Bale in Talks to Play Dick Cheney in Biopic

Also in talks for the still-untitled film about Mr. Cheney, the former vice president, are Steve Carell, who would play Donald Rumsfeld, the former defense secretary, and Amy Adams, who would play Mr. Cheney’s wife, Lynne.

I honestly checked the date of the piece to make sure it wasn’t left over from 4/1.

@Doug Mataconis: Seems an unlikely subject for a biopic, too.

Perhaps. But at the same time, Cheney was probably the most influential and consequential VP in American history, and had had a long career of government service, including a stint as SecDef, prior to that.

But anyone doing a biographical film about him will have to prepare for a controversial reception, however they choose to approach their subject.
